Sara Benabdallah
Lives & Works in between New York City, US and Marrakech, Morocco
Sara Benabdallah is a filmmaker and photographer who has embarked on a mission to showcase her country's vibrant heritage and culture to the world, Morocco. Born and raised in the historic medina of Marrakech, she found her earliest inspirations amidst the maze-like streets of her city. Her work presents her deep love for Morocco and her desire to challenge stereotypes and misconceptions about her homeland whilst acknowledging the challenges of pursuing art in Morocco. Following nine years in the US, she finds she repeatedly returns to nostalgia as a theme, reflecting on her happy childhood and reconnecting with her roots.

Recently, Sara's work has been featured in many publications such as GQ Middle East, HypeBeast Africa and This is Yung.

Sara Benabdallah will be presented by Nil Gallery.
