Salifou Lindou

In recent years, self-taught multidisciplinary artist, Salifou Lindou, has moved away from the installations and bright and busy mixed-media collages that characterised his early work, instead prioritising pastel techniques. Challenging established notions of what constitutes a work on paper, Lindou renders human-scale characters that serve to underline the fragility and vulnerability of human beings in spite of their intelligence and ability to transform their environment to centre their needs and comfort. In tune with the world around him, in his work, Lindou addresses issues he encounters in his life and in the lives of those around him, one of which is migration.
