Diambe
Lives & Works in São Paulo, Brazil
Diambe is a Black, non-binary visual artist who explores fabulous possibilities of new beings, elevating aesthetic and ornamental aspects of nature. They explore materiality when dealing with bronze and use recognisable forms of diasporic people, now in new arrangements, mimicking other beings or creating new members of their fabled environment. The artist graduated from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in partnership with the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle with a degree in Social Communication and then obtained a master's degree in Performing Arts at UFRJ.

Diambe's work is included in the collections of recognised institutions across Brazil, such as the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP), Pinacoteca de São Paulo and the Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR), among others. As well as participating in several group exhibitions, they have presented four solo shows, Movement (go and come), Arbeitsgemeinschaft Zürcher Bildhauer (Pro Helvetia Stipend), Zurich (2023); Jardim Novas Mucosas, Quadra, São Paulo (2022); Ampla curva de coisa viva, Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP), São Paulo (2021); and Cartões de revisita with Tadáskía, Despina, Rio de Janeiro (2019).

Diambe will be presented by Galerie REVEL.
