Modou Niang
Lives & Works in Dakar, Senegal
Modou Niang was one of the first students in the Recherches plastiques nègres section at the Dakar School of Arts. He took part in the first Festival Mondial des Arts Nègres in 1966. Niang was also one of the pioneers of the Manufactures sénégalaises des arts décoratifs set up in Thiès in 1966, at the initiative of President Léopold Sédar Senghor. Senegal donated one of his works, N'Daanaan, to UNESCO. Modou Niang will be presented by Loeve&Co.
