The Melrose Gallery
The Melrose Gallery is a leading Pan African Contemporary gallery located in Johannesburg, with a presence in San Francisco. It represents some of South Africa’s most established artists, including Dr Esther Mahlangu, Professor Pitika Ntuli, Dr Noria Mabasa and Dr Willie Bester, who provide a solid foundation for an exciting new wave of emerging talents from the continent of Africa who are rising swiftly to take up their positions on the global stage.
The Melrose Gallery is committed to recognising the valuable contribution of art legends in the latter part of their careers and providing platforms for artists to share their stories in contemporary ways. This includes a variety of methods such as art fairs, the publishing of books, the implementation of education programmes with museums, and of course a busy calendar of well attended exhibitions. The gallery has also notably implemented SculptX, the largest annual sculpture fair in South Africa for six years.
