Kendeja Collective
Founded in 2023, Kendeja Collective is an online platform that fosters sustainable connections to African heritage through African diasporic art and its international engagement. In an effort to make African art accessible, and inspired by the what-ifs of the no longer extant National Cultural Center of Liberia, Kendeja Collective now partners directly with artists of African descent to emphasise the capacity their artwork has to cultivate agency, collectivity, advancement, and innovation, for both Africa and its diaspora.

The presentation reach to the junction, you’ll see me there, features works by Valerie Asiimwe Amani, Aïcha Fall, and Stephanie Lindquist, exploring boundaries, acclimations, and resonance. The title is a nod to wayfinding in Liberia– reminiscent of how this convoluted, yet charming, process requires collectivity and grace, these artists present abstraction in a way that does not emphasise obscurity, but rather elucidates how clarity and proximity can be found in seemingly opaque situations.
