Wilde is a young gallery that, paradoxically, has a long history. Its activity is inseparable from what Guy Bärtschi Gallery established in Geneva in 1990. After the departure of its founder in 2014, the gallery was rebranded as Art Bärtschi & Cie. Encouraged by the success of the first phase of this transition, in 2019, the team chose to name the gallery Wilde.
This change of identity comes at a pivotal time in the gallery’s development. In addition to the founding gallery in the heart of the Quartier des Bains de Genève, in February 2019, Wilde inaugurated a second gallery space in the center of Basel,. The gallery team and artists specifically design exhibitions in Basel that are unique to the architecture of the space. A third space will be inaugurated in the center of Zürich. The activity will be devoted exclusively to the secondary market.
While representing world renowned artists including Marina Abramovic, Wim Delvoye, Jan Fabre and Not Vital, the gallery is also committed to supporting and encouraging young, emerging artists such as Omar Ba, Mathieu Dafflon, Yann Gross, Charlotte Herzig and Dorian Sari.
Wilde Gallery facilitates collaborative projects with local and international institutions such as The Museum of Contemporary Art, Belgrade; Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, Bruxelles; Museo di Capodimonte, Naples; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; Fondation Bullukian, Lyon and CCCOD,Tours.
