Settled in Morocco since 2009, the Montresso* Art Foundation is a hybrid place that aims to support the creation and promotion of current artistic research. Through its artistic residence Jardin Rouge, its art space, and off-site actions, the Montresso* Art Foundation is committed to promoting a multifaceted approach that transcends borders and norms.
Through its two exhibition spaces, the Salle des Casques and the Montresso* Art Space, the foundation develops and exhibits multiple projects — the diversity of which reflects its lasting commitment to the artists it accompanies. Five residency shows are organised each year, as well as several larger-scale programmes, including IN-DISCIPLINE.
Since its founding, the foundation has accompanied more than 85 artists, resulting in 39 end-of-residency presentations. Its activities are in line with the desire to make Jardin Rouge a moving place, but also to engage it in partnerships and events looking outwards. This approach includes various collaborations with the biennials of Marrakech, Dakar, and Kinshasa, as well as with museums, including the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rabat and the Musée des Abattoirs in Toulouse.
