During the fair, Aperture will showcase the new publication Kwame Brathwaite: Black is Beautiful in addition to releases by Hank Willis Thomas, Deana Lawson, Zanele Muholi and Mickalene Thomas. Select Photobook classics, children’s books, and essay compilations will also be on view. Subscribe to the award-winning Aperture Magazine and collect limited-editions from featured artists including works by Malala Andrialavidrazana, Kwame Brathwaite, Durimel, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Eric Gyamfi, Tebogo “Harness” Hamese, Deana Lawson, Tyler Mitchell, Musa N. Nxumalo, Hank Willis Thomas, and more.
Aperture, a not-for-profit foundation, connects the photo community and its audiences with the most inspiring work, the sharpest ideas, and with each other—in print, in person, and online. Created in 1952 by photographers and writers as “common ground for the advancement of photography,” Aperture today is a multi-platform publisher and center for the photo community. From its base in New York, Aperture Foundation produces, publishes, and presents a program of photography projects and programs— locally, across the United States, and around the world.
