The poetic work of painter Kassou Seydou unveils his view of an altered and complex world. Using a palette of warm tones, symbolism and lively animated characters, he depicts allegoric scenes of a world in disorder, highlighting resource depletion and growing structural inequalities. Deeply connected to the land and his origins, Seydou’s approach puts nature and customs at the heart of an equitable society. His exhibitions include Voyage à Dakar, Bamako and En quête de sens, Dak’Art – Biennale de l’Art African Contemporain (2016); De Kawral à Sargal, Raw Material Company (2013), and Act3, Boribana Museum of Contemporary Art, Dakar.
