A member of the Kapsiki circle, Salifou Lindou grew up in Foumban, Cameroon. Since his childhood, the masks and statues of artisans and of the Palace Museum became part of his daily life. He started creating very early, and today is considered one of the most recognised Cameroonian artists on the national and international scene.
A tireless researcher, Lindou shapes, structures, and deconstructs materials such as metal sheets, leather, steel, and paper. He constantly experiments with new elements to make the most of them. At a time when many artists are returning to figuration or hyperrealism, Lindou seeks the perfect mastery of the abstraction of his subjects.
