Shervone Neckles is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and community worker. Neckles’ draws inspiration from the duality and transitional nature of her Afro-Grenadian and American identity. Her work embraces collage, alternative printmaking techniques, book arts, sculpture and social investigations. She has participated in a number of residencies including the Youlou Arts Foundation, St. Vincent and the Grenadines; Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, Captiva; The Elizabeth Foundation’s SHIFT Program, New York; The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Maine among others. She has received awards from The Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Foundation of Contemporary Art, Joan Mitchell Foundation, and fellowships from Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop and Manhattan Graphic Center, all New York. Her work has been shown worldwide and featured in the 2019 Venice Biennale Grenada Pavilion. Necklesʼ has earned an MA from Teacherʼs College, Columbia University, MFA from Queens College, City University of New York and BFA from The College of New Rochelle.
