Michéa is a graduate of the École Supérieure d’Arts Graphiques et d’Architecture Intérieure in Paris. In 1986 he immigrated to Dakar to work as a graphic designer and had his first exhibition at the National Gallery of Senegal. Following this, he worked as an assistant to Roman Cieślewicz until 1991. Greatly inspired by the renowned graphic designer, Michéa threw himself into his painting. His artworks have been exhibited in many solo and group shows including Flow of Forms, Design Histories between Africa and Europe, Architekturmuseum der Tu München (2017); Making Africa: A Continent of Contemporary Design (2015–19: Vitra Design Museum, Weil am Rhein; the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao; CCCB Barcelona; Kunsthal Rotterdam and Blanton Museum of Art, Austin); De Punta a Punta, Galerie Cécile Fakhoury, Abidjan (2015) and Pangaea: New Art From Africa and Latin America, the Saatchi Gallery, London (2014).
