Hailing from Coco Beach, Nungua, a beach town by Ghana’s burgeoning art capital, Accra, Aplerh-Doku Borlabi’s work is very much influenced by his time spent by the Atlantic Ocean; which is not only a source of inspiration, but also place where the artist seeks solace and guidance from his ancestors. His work showcases the natural beauty of the people Borlabi interacts with in Ghana as a way of further interrogating the unique characteristics that make us who we are.
