Montresso* Art Foundation: IN-DISCIPLINE # 1

IN-DISCIPLINE # 1 is an exhibition dedicated to facilitating the creation and diffusion of African art for the inaugural three years, and will then focus on other regions. Supported by the Montresso* Art Foundation, a Marrakech-based artist residency and art space, the first iteration of the programme will operate under the aegis of artist Dominique Zinkpè. This edition welcomes four Beninese artists: Ishola Akpo, Charly d’Almeida, Gérard Quenum and Nathanaël Vodouhé.
Dominique Zinkpè, curator of IN-DISCIPLINE# 1, says of the residency and the exhibition: “Cotonou invites itself in Marrakesh with five of its most prolific contemporary artists of their generation. By the virtue of their creations, they mirror the reflections of our world and our continent through ever-changing pluralist mediums. Each of us captures the world according to its filter, not without a certain indiscipline proper to creation”.
