Eclectica Contemporary presents a collection of art from and of the African continent, interrogating issues around globalisation. Founded in 2016 in Cape Town, the gallery aims to serve as a meeting point and platform for artists locally and internationally. Its programme is focused on highlighting artistic practices that address urgent social and political conditions. Previous exhibitions and talks have included projects that have focused on language and cultural coding in AMAQABA, social narratives and activism in Our Stories, as well as significant solo exhibitions by represented artists. With a full programme of group and solo exhibitions, as well as the production of publications and hosting of talks and workshops, Eclectica Contemporary also facilitates collaborative projects with local and international institutions and artists.
