Mariam Abouzid Souali provides testimony on today’s social, geopolitical and environmental issues, locally and globally. Her works immerse us in the world of play and childhood, but her figures evolve in strange landscapes: highway interchanges, mining fields, industrial ports… The juxtaposition between these two spaces, often nourished by references to the history of art, leads us to question the functioning of our world at several speeds. She studied art, French literature and art history in Morocco and the United States, and she is currently a fine art and art history professor at the National Fine Arts School in Marrakech, Morocco
