Daoud Aoulad-Syad navigates between the fixed pictures of photographs and the moving pictures of long and short films. Aoulad-Syad likes to represent his native Morocco with a humanity that characterises him. The black and white photographs provide a timeless aura of which one would not know the exact origin, but one quickly feels a closeness with the subjects.
His photographic work has been the subject of various exhibitions, including a travelling exhibition in the FNAC of France and Belgium in 1989. Likewise, his work was also shown at an exhibition at the Arab World Institute in Paris, 1990. More recently, he was included in an exhibition at Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris in November 2015 to January 2016. He also participated in Les Rencontres de Bamako 2022 with a tribute to his forty years of photography.
