Lives and works in Douala, Cameroon
Tormented by the universal spectacle of human cruelty, Jean David Nkot is committed to denouncing the apathy of the governments towards the victims of migration. His works are intended to free the victims marked by the violence of indifference that characterizes the complicit face of the world. Far from attracting the attention of the contemplator to the identity of the person represented, the works rather highlight the turmoil inhabiting the "character". After graduating from the Institut de Formation Artistique de Mbalmayo and Institut de Beaux-Arts de Foumban, Cameroon, Nkot joined the post-master's program, Moving Frontiers, at École nationale supérieure d’arts de Paris-Cergy. Since, his work has been shown in international exhibitions such as Dak’Art – Biennale de l’Art Africain Contemporain, Dakar; National Museum of Yaoundé, Cameroon.
