Established in 2012, Galerie Cécile Fakhoury has held a mission to promote contemporary art across the African continent through developing a perennial local infrastructure. The gallery cultivates awareness of the creativity and artistic diversity within Africa through exhibitions, international fairs, biennales and collaborations with international galleries. Strongly rooted in their respective identities and stories, the artists represented by Galerie Cécile Fakhoury distinguish themselves through the use of a language that aims to dismantle barriers and reject geographical stigmatisation. Furthermore, they share an interest in engaging with historical narratives, preserving the living memory of their countries, and critically redefining their links to the world.
