31 PROJECT is dedicated to promoting African contemporary art scenes through multidisciplinary exhibitions of artists originating from the continent and its diasporas. Gallery owner, Charles-Wesley Hourdé, joined forces with Clémence Houdart to create and develop a new independent branch of his business dedicated to contemporary art. Together, in 2019, they founded 31 PROJECT. 31 PROJECT is a new player in the networks and emerging markets that are moving the cartographies of international contemporary art scenes. 31 PROJECT is a flexible model that reacts as close as possible to the actuality of African scenes and to give an account of their vitality. A series of exhibitions will be held at the Charles-Wesley Hourdé gallery in Paris and at art fairs, in France and abroad.
