Inspired by the unique concepts in Yoruba heritage & African Art, Blue Cloth, presented by Distill2710, celebrates and explores the contemporality of the unique concepts in Yoruba heritage and African art. Distill2710 looks at Nigerian textiles and the craftsmanship they entail as a backdrop and source of inspiration, with influences from the works of Nigerian pioneering artist, Chief Nike Okundaye.
Distill2710 creates a communal space for gathering in the heart of the fair, a true immersive space exploring the art of textiles by showcasing and displaying traditional Nigerian Adire Batiq & Indigo dyes, a West African tradition which is thought to be at least at least a thousand years old. Blue Cloth is supported by leading furniture brands such as Verpan, Fritz Hansen, La Palma and Established & sons. This 1-54 Lounge project forms part of Distill2710’s ethos on collaboration, its burgeoning interest and multidisciplinary approach to design across interiors, furniture and branding design.
