Christophe Person
After launching the contemporary African art department at Piasa, a Paris auction house in 2016 and directing Artcurial Auction House in 2021 and 2022, where he remains a consultant, Christophe Person opened his eponymous gallery in December 2022. The gallery specialises in contemporary art from Africa and is located in Paris at 39.
Christophe Person believes that artists from across the continent, many of whom have lived on both the African continent and in the West, have dual points of view that give them a better understanding of societal issues, whether they are related to questions of identity, the environment or the flow of goods and people between the North and the South. He aims to use his gallery to provide a platform for African artists to create a dialogue with audiences across the whole world.
