Cosmas Shiridzinomwa has been practising for over 25 years. He undertook his formal arts education at the Harare Polytechnic College in the Faculty of Fine Arts where he currently lectures in the arts department and also serves as the Dean of Students. Shiridzinomwa has participated in numerous exhibitions globally in Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Germany, Denmark, and Italy for the Venice Biennale. His works, criticisms and statements have been published in numerous art catalogues, magazines, books, and newspapers and his artworks and practice are studied by art students as reference to current events and happenings that occur in the country.
Shiridzinomwa’s work is symbolic in content and seeks to record the deep social and political issues that the living go through, with the intention to sensitise, provoke the mind, initiate constructive debates and ultimately contribute towards the betterment of our social and political spheres.
