Siriki Ky’s creations consistently convey emblems inspired by his Ivorian roots through solid matter. Ky, however, transforms ideas drawn from his heritage with the use of his own human experience, reinventing this rich inspiration into a unique encounter for the viewer. By tapping into the human condition, the content of his work becomes more widely accessible. His intentions are formed with an emphasis on mythology, natural forces, and metamorphosis. These are then firmly displayed within cast structures containing varied distribution and form. Dedicated to casting traditions, Ky uses bronze and quite often a traditional forge. The work’s intent reigns infallible, holding history, sentiment and presence.
Ky studied at the School of Fine Arts, Abidjan before settling in Burkina Faso and has had works exhibited globally.
