
Amahigueré Dolo studied visual arts at the Institut National des Arts (INA) in Bamako, Mali. Best known for his innovative and beautifully carved works in ceramic, bronze and wood, Dolo is also a talented animist artist. His sculptures, drawings and ceramics have been widely exhibited in Europe, Asia and Africa; in 2002 he participated in Dak’Art, the Biennial of Contemporary African Art in Dakar, Senegal.
In 2004, a sculptural work of his was acquired for permanent installation in Le Jardin des Tuileries (NACC acquisition-DAP) Paris, France. More recently his solo exhibition sculptures & dessins was presented at L’Espal Centre Culturel in Le Mans, France in 2011. Dolo’s work is featured in several private collections such as the Fondation Blachère in Apt, France, and the private collection of the artist Miquel Barceló.
