Educated in the National School of Fine Arts of Dakar, Ibrahima Dieye’s research is at the intersection of drawing, painting and collage. Often working in a large scale, the artist mixes symbols, forms and materials in order to compose strange scenes where hybrid animals and mysterious characters are the main protagonists. This is the start of a narration of fanciful urban fables and dramatic stories inspired by a multitude of cultures. In his work, Dieye unveils a poetic, yet ironic gaze on contemporary society.
