Yveline Tropéa
Born 1962 in France
Lives and works in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
Over the years, Yveline Tropéa's work has been informed by a variety of influences, from Italian Madonnas to French anatomical drawings, from Mediterranean myths to Burkinabe advertising aesthetics. Tropéa commutes between France and Burkina Faso for work and home.  Since 2010, she has embroidered thousands of beads on her backgrounds in a surrealist script with a seemingly decorative technique, creating a rejuvenated and spectacular visual result. Over the years, she has become an expert in this technique and has successfully integrated, applied, and displayed the cultural, technical, and aesthetic aspects of Africa in her personal and contemporary work.
