Roméo Mivekannin
Lives & Works in Toulouse, France and Cotonou, Benin
Roméo Mivekannin’s creations are infused with an ancient temporal essence that pays homage to his cultural roots, and echoes voodoo cosmology in Benin. His works are multidisciplinary and ambitious and seek to address the stereotypes and racism that are inherent in Western representations of African people. Through his art, Mivekannin asks audiences to reflect on the Western-centricity of the international art scene. Roméo Mivekannin will be presented by Galerie Eric Dupont.
