Omar Mahfoudi
Lives & Works in Paris, France
At the beginning of his career, Omar Mahfoudi was very attached to portraiture. Since moving to Paris, he has explored new perspectives through his painting, taking an interest in landscape and developing a plastic language that combines realism and fantasy. In his recent works, Mahfoudi often depicts bathers in large-scale shots as if they are imperceptible atoms lost in the universe. This contemplative tone permeates much of Mahfoudi's works. The twilights that form the backdrops of his paintings, sublimated by both cold and warm tones, reflect both a sense of endless hope and existential concern about the state of the environment and climate change. Omar Mahfoudi will be presented by L'Atelier 21 Gallery.
