Maepa, Amogelang

Amogelang Maepa is a ceramist and visual storyteller whose sculptures are fused with poetry. Her works presents her personal experiences and portrays the more intimate and honest parts of herself. She pursued the arts at Tshwane University of Technology, majoring in Ceramics and Printmaking and graduated in 2017. In 2019, Maepa participated in the RMB Talent Unlocked programme at Turbine Art Fair, followed by a group exhibition, #ARTladies, held at Berman Contemporary. Maepa joined The New Vanguard group, a mentorship programme that coincides with Berman Contemporary and exhibited in the New Vanguard’s show, LABYRINTHINE, in 2020 and the annual Summer Show in 2021, both at Berman Contemporary.
