Leslie Amine
Born 1981 in France
Lives and works in Grenoble, France
Leslie Amine practices painting, drawing, and photography, which serve as bases for the establishment of her worlds. Of French-Beninese origin, she is interested in the questions of crossbreeding, hybridity, and identity. Her work is built to the rhythm of her travels in the world, as she often draws inspiration from these travels. Plenty of elements eventually then meet on her colorful canvases: lush vegetation, living cities, an atypical character.  Amine graduated from the Regional School of Fine Arts in Valence in 2004. Selected group exhibitions include Reflets dans la jungle, La Halle – Centre d’art contemporain, Pont-en-Royans (2019); Africa Now, Galerie Claire Corcia, Paris (2019) and Mix[cités], GVCC, Casablanca (2018).
