Januario Jano is a multidisciplinary artist, who has completed his undergraduate degree at the London Metropolitan University in 2005 and he is attending a MFA in Fine Arts at the Goldsmith University, in London. He has been involved in self-initiate research projects that has been a core set for his artistic practice. His multidisciplinary research comprises painting, textile, sculpture, performance, sound installation, video and photography, allowing him to develop relevant bodies of works and work rituals. 2018 is a milestone year for Jano: he was selected for the Cape Town Art Fair curatorial section “Tomorrow/Today” where he presented a solo project together with a performance. For the Dakar Biennale 2018, prominent curator Simon Njami included his most recent work Ilundu (1/24), part of his ongoing project “Ambundulando”. Other recent exhibitions include The Black Sphinx II, Primo Marella Gallery, Milan (2018); Artes Mirabilis, UCCLA, Lisbon (2018) and Broken Bodies in Lugano (2019)
