Hriech, Chourouk
Born 1977 in France
Lives and works in Marseille, France
Chourouk Hriech develops her work essentially around drawing and installation. Her research is based on the observation of changing urban landscapes, a navigation through the worlds she examines, and which are available to her. She practices exclusively black and white drawing and invests medias that are as diverse as they are singular, including paper, walls and everyday objects. Her work transcends time and space by reshaping modern and ancient architectural motives while setting up, simultaneously, imaginary spaces and mental architectures. She graduated with Ecole Nationale Supérieure des beaux-arts de Lyon, in 2002. Recent exhibitions include Storytelling, Mac Lyon (2019) and Kedem-Kodem-Kadima, CCA, Tel Aviv (2018). Chourouk’s work can be found in the Fonds Municipal d’Art Contemporain de la Ville de Paris (France), the CNAP (Art National Center) (France), the FRAC Marseille (Fond Regional d’Art Contemporain PACA) (France), the CDG (Morocco), the Collection SAMART Project , Paris (France), the MACVAL museum, Vitry-sur-Seine (France).
