Damilola Onosowobo’s examination of nostalgia and memory transports audiences to a different time and place. Her works, while capturing the mundane, are proof that the very simple act of living can start a ripple effect that will be felt for generations to come. Onosowobo’s art highlights the reality that humans rely on echoes of the past that connect us through memories, and the lives we live now will serve as anchors for those in the future. She received her Bachelor's degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Environmental Design from the University of Lagos. Her recent shows include ART X Lagos, 2022, Girls Run The World at Eclectica Contemporary in Cape Town, South Africa, 2022, Coalesce at Affinity Art Gallery in Lagos, 2021, Mother of Mankind, HOFA Gallery in London, 2021 and Phenomenology of a Black woman at For you Gallery, Dubai, 2021. Damilola Onosowobo will be presented by Affinity Gallery.
