Amina Menia
Born in 1976 in Algiers, Algeria. Lives and works in Algiers.

The work of Amina Menia addresses our relationship to architectural and historical spaces with a focus on challenging the conventional notions of the exhibition space. Meeting at an intersection between sculpture and installation, Menia’s practice seeks to trigger interactivity between its viewers through implementations of socio-spatial configurations.

Menia has exhibited at several institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art of Algiers (MAMA), Algeria, the Carthage National Museum, Tunisia, the Cornerhouse in Manchester, UK, and the Castile-León Museum of Contemporary Art (MUSAC) in León, Spain. She also recently exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Marseille, France, and the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin, Ireland, and participated in the 11th Sharjah Biennial in the United Arab Emirates.
