Born in Algeria in 1972, Paris-based artist Fayçal Baghriche grew up navigating an Arab culture in a personal environment and Western culture in the public realm. His performances, installations and photographic works isolate gestures from daily life through these dual cultural filters, to unpack the behavioural nuances that organise and constitute human societies. Baghriche is currently included in the group exhibition ‘Craziness Makes Sense’ open until 21 September 2014 at the Vögele Kultur Zentrum in Pfäffikon, Switzerland.
