Exclusive 1-54 Art Bike Tour by Pikala

Discover some of the highlights at 1-54 partner exhibitions and have fun exploring arts in the Marrakech Medina!

Organised by Pikala Bikes, as part of the extensive 1-54 Public Programme, a tailored-made bike tour across the Medina will be available to book on occasion of 1-54 Marrakech 2020.

Tours will start from 1-54 main venue, La Mamounia, and will lead to Dar Moulay Ali, DaDa and El Fenn before making a stop for coffee at the art deco restaurant, Lotus Privilège. The tour will proceed visiting Khalid Art Gallery and Galerie Dar El Bacha, before heading to Pikala headquarters for a short break and then return back to La Mamounia.

1-54 Art Bike Tours are available on Friday 21, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 February, starting at 14:00. Each tour lasts approximately 3 hours. Groups consist of a minimum of 2 bikers, and a maximum of 10 accompanied by 2 professional guides.

Cost: 250 MAD per person (including bike, guide, water and the coffee stop).

About Pikala

Founded by Cantal Bakker And Erik van Heijningen, Pikala is a non-profit organisation in favour of bicycle development. Pikala uses the bicycle to educate and employ the local youth in the tourism and technique sector. By training local girls and boys to become professional bicycle tour guides Pikala provides them with an extra income. Pikala also has a training program for young locals to become bicycle mechanics. Trained by European bicycle experts Pikala facilitates knowledge exchange between Europe and Morocco trough educational activities such as traffic safety lessonscycling lessons for girls and the student bike project.

Pikala offer professional bicycle tours by their trained youth and a bicycle rent out in order to support and finance their social goals.
