It is with great sadness that we receive and share the news of Atta Kwami’s passing. Atta was a force in and for Ghana’s cultural scene as both a painter and a teacher, he will be greatly missed. Atta has received recognition for his work since he began, but most notably, and recently, he received the 2021 Maria Lassnig Prize. Atta’s work has been shown at the fair twice before and we were ecstatic to have a solo presentation of Atta’s work at the fair with Beardsmore Gallery. Following the wishes of his family, we will continue to show his work but his presence will be deeply missed. We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
